Dismantling


1. Remove the automatic transmission selector knob.

2. Disconnect the fasteners securing the selector decorative panel to the upper floor tunnel trim.

3. Loosen and disconnect the rear oxygen sensor connector.

4. Remove the lower engine guard.

5. Release the rubber bushing and remove the oxygen sensor harness connector through its hole.

6. Unscrew the nut securing the heat shield to the bracket.



7. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the heat shield to the transfer case housing.

8. Remove the heat shield.

9. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the intake pipe flanges to the exhaust manifolds.

10. Loosen the manifold flanges.

11. Unscrew the 3 nuts securing the inlet pipe to the middle section of the exhaust system.

12. Separate the downpipe from the center section of the exhaust system.

13. Remove the gasket.

14. Remove the exhaust pipe.

15. Remove the oxygen sensor.

Installation


1. Clean the oxygen sensor and its mounting location.

2. If you are installing an old oxygen sensor, apply anti-seize compound to its threads.

3. Screw in the oxygen sensor and tighten it to 55 Nm using the LRT-19-014 tool.

4. Clean the exhaust pipe and manifold flanges.



5. Install the exhaust pipe.

6. Using a new gasket, connect the middle section to the exhaust pipe, fit the nuts and tighten them to 50 Nm.

7. Align the flanges of the left exhaust manifold and the inlet pipe, tighten the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 50 Nm.

8. Align the flanges of the right exhaust manifold and the inlet pipe, fit the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 50 Nm.

9. Install the heat shield and tighten the nuts by hand.

10. Tighten the screen mounting nut to the exhaust system bracket to a torque of 45 Nm.

11. Tighten the nuts securing the screen to the transfer case housing to a torque of 25 Nm.

12. Route the oxygen sensor wiring harness through the rubber grommet and secure the grommet.

13. Reinstall the lower engine guard.

14. Connect the oxygen sensor connector.

15. Install the decorative panel and selector cover onto the upper floor tunnel trim and secure the fasteners.

16. Install the automatic transmission selector handle.
