Pyrotechnic device of the steering column (Freelander 2)

In North American (NAS) vehicles, the steering column is equipped with a pyrotechnic device that increases energy absorption if the driver is not wearing a seat belt. If the driver is wearing a seat belt, this device will not deploy in a crash. For more information, see the steering column section.
