Transmission Control Module (TCM) (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

2. Remove the cover and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to procedure: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and Installation).

4. Release and disconnect the selector lever cable.



5. Remove the gear selector lever.



6. Remove the transmission control module (TCM).

Installation

1. Install the TCM. Tightening torque: 24 Nm

2. Install the gear selector lever. Tightening torque: 13 Nm

3. Secure and connect the selector lever cable.

4. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to procedure: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and Installation).

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. Refer to Procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

6. If a new component has been fitted, configure using Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.
