NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
2. Raise the vehicle.
WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.
3. Remove the engine trim. Refer to procedure: Engine Cover - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

6. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

7. Remove and discard the hose clamps.

9. Tightening torque: 4 Nm

10. New CMP Sensor Only: The tip of the CMP sensor must be located on one of the 4 bridges, at the rear of the crankshaft pulley, to ensure proper installation of the camshaft position sensor.
CAUTION: Incorrect installation of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor can result in engine damage.

11. Used CMP sensor only: Insert a 7.5mm drill bit between the valve cover and the camshaft position sensor as shown in the figure to properly install the camshaft position sensor.
CAUTION: Incorrect installation of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor can result in engine damage.

Installation
1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
CAUTION: Clean the element from dirt and grease.
