Removal


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Set the SRS system to fail-safe mode. For more information, refer to Standard Workshop Techniques

3. Remove the driver's side instrument panel reinforcement. For more information, refer to Driver's Side Instrument Panel Reinforcement (76.46.31)

4. Remove the instrument panel reinforcement on the passenger side. For more information, refer to Instrument Panel Reinforcement on the Passenger Side (76.46.32)

5. Remove the instrument cluster speaker. For more information, refer to Instrument Cluster Speaker (86.50.11)

6. Remove the upper trim panels from both A-pillars. For more information, refer to A-Pillar Trim Panel (76.13.26)

7. Remove the sun sensor.
  • Release the 2 clamps.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector.
Disconnect the electrical connector.


8. Disconnect the passenger airbag module bracket. Remove the 2 Torx head screws.

9. Disconnect the 3 passenger airbag module electrical connectors.



9. Disconnect the 3 passenger airbag module electrical connectors.

NOTE: Do not drop the screw inside the instrument panel.


Remove 1 Torx head screw and 1 bolt from the speaker hole on the top of the instrument panel.

Remove 1 Torx head screw and 1 bolt from the speaker hole on the top of the instrument panel.


11. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness. Release the 2 clamps.

12. With assistance, remove the top of the instrument panel. Remove the 5 Torx head screws.



12. With assistance, remove the top of the instrument panel. Remove the 5 Torx head screws.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the part is removed only for access.


Remove the passenger airbag module. Remove the 4 nuts.

Remove the passenger airbag module. Remove the 4 nuts.


14. Remove the windshield heating duct. Remove 7 screws.

14. Remove the windshield heating duct. Remove 7 screws.


Installation


1. Install the windshield heating duct. Tighten the screws.

2. Install the passenger airbag module. Tighten the nuts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).



3. With assistance, install the upper part of the instrument panel.
  • Tighten the screws.
  • Connect the wiring harness.
4. Tighten the bolt into the speaker hole at the top of the instrument panel. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

5. Secure the passenger airbag module bracket. Tighten the Torx head screws. (tightening torque 25 Nm).

6. Connect the electrical connectors of the passenger airbag module.

7. Install the sunlight sensor.
  • Connect the electrical connector.
  • Engage the clamps.
8. Install the A-pillar trim panels. For more information, refer to A-Pillar Trim Panel (76.13.26)

9. Install the speaker. For more information, refer to Instrument Panel Speaker (86.50.11)

10. Install the instrument panel reinforcement on the passenger side. For more information, refer to Instrument Panel Reinforcement on the Passenger Side (76.46.32)

11. Install the driver's side instrument panel reinforcement. For more information, refer to Driver's Side Instrument Panel Reinforcement (76.46.31)

12. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
