Removal and installation the battery (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Secure the hood in the service position. Release the hood struts.

2. Remove the battery cover.



3. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.

5. Unscrew the 2 battery clamp bolts and remove the clamp.



6. Remove the battery.

Installation

1. NOTE: Apply petroleum jelly to the battery terminals.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.

• Tighten the battery hold-down bolts.(tightening torque 5 Nm).
• Tighten the battery terminals (tightening torque 5 Nm).
