General Provisions


The battery, mounted in a protective box, is located between the bulkhead and the secondary bulkhead on the passenger side. The battery rests on a platform to which it is secured with clamping strips and bolts.

The cables are attached to the battery terminals using clamp terminals. The positive battery terminal is designed with a pyrotechnic device that disconnects the cable in the event of an accident or the airbags are about to deploy. All models are equipped with Delphi maintenance-free lead-calcium batteries. All batteries have a similar design and differ in characteristics depending on the application. The vehicles are equipped with one of two battery sizes:
  • H7 - all models with petrol engines
  • H8 - models with TdV6 engines
The battery uses "calcium build-up" technology, meaning that the positive and negative plate grids are made from strips of lead-calcium alloy.



The battery case is semi-hermetic. Each can has a ventilation hole, which is necessary to compensate for the thermal expansion of the electrolyte and the release of oxygen and hydrogen, which are formed under certain operating conditions of the battery.

The battery is equipped with a built-in hydrometer with a temperature compensator, which allows you to visually assess the density and level of the electrolyte. The battery condition is assessed by the color of the indicator:
  • GREEN - the battery is well charged and ready for use
  • DARK (fading to BLACK) - low battery charge and need to be recharged
  • COLOURLESS or YELLOW - the battery is not suitable for use and must be replaced

If the indicator becomes COLOURLESS or YELLOW, the battery has an internal fault. Do not attempt to charge the battery in this condition or jump start the engine.

Before removing the battery, make sure the car alarm is off and the ignition is off. Always disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive. When installing the battery, always connect the positive terminal first, then the negative.

If the battery requires recharging, always use a constant current charger designed for lead-calcium batteries. DO NOT use rapid chargers as this may cause permanent damage to the battery.

Delivery mode


The vehicle is equipped with a transit relay. This is a single-use device and is NOT intended for use by the vehicle owner. The relay is connected in series between the battery and the ground and prevents the battery from discharging during transportation. When selling the vehicle, the relay must be removed.
