Transfer case shift motor (Discovery 3)

Removal

1.

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the transmission crossmember. For more information, refer to Transmission Crossmember (76.10.09 or 76.10.92)

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the joints or boots, do not allow the transmission to hang on the drive shafts.

Remove the shift motor.

• Lower the rear of the transmission for easy access.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Remove 4 Torx head bolts.

Installation

1. Install the shift motor.

• Clean the parts.
• Tighten the Torx head bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).
• Connect the electrical connector.

2. Install the transmission crossmember. For more information, refer to Transmission Support Crossmember (76.10.09 or 76.10.92)

3. Using T4, recalibrate the new shift motor.
