Clutch master cylinder (Discovery 3)

Removal

CAUTION: Brake fluid may damage paintwork if it comes into contact with it. If coolant is spilled, remove it immediately and rinse the affected area with water.

1. Remove the decorative panel from the driver's side.

• Release the clamp.
• Remove 2 screws.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

2. Release the clutch master cylinder fork pin. Remove the clamp.

3. Remove the clutch pedal spring assist mechanism.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing components, ensure that the area around mating surfaces and connections is clean. To avoid contamination of the system, plug all open connections.

Remove the clutch master cylinder.

• Place a container to collect the liquid.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Remove 2 bolts.
• Remove the clamp.

5. Remove the clutch master cylinder. Disconnect the fluid supply line and discard the sealing ring.

Installation

1. Install the clutch master cylinder.

• Connect the working fluid supply line using a new seal.
• Install the clamp.
• Tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
• Connect the electrical connector.
• Remove the container.

2. Install the clutch pedal spring assist mechanism.

3. Secure the fork pin. Install the clamp.

4. Install the decorative panel.

• Connect the electrical connector.
• Secure the clamp.
• Tighten the screws.

5. Raise and support the vehicle.
