Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the throttle body. For more information, refer to Throttle Body Gasket.

3. Remove the ECT sensor.

• To gain access, move the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolant hose to the side.
• Place an absorbent cloth to absorb any spilled liquid.
• Disconnect the plug connector.
• Remove the sensor and discard the seal.

Installation

1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order. Clean the parts.

2. Tighten the ECT sensor (tightening torque 18 Nm).
