Removing
WARNING: Do not remove the engine coolant temperature sensor when the cooling system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the sensor could cause serious injury such as scalding.
WARNING: Coolant that comes into contact with the paintwork can damage it. If you spill coolant, remove it immediately and flush the area with water.
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. For more information refer to Specification.
2. Remove the engine cover. For more information refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)
3. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the ECT sensor.
- Lift the shank and turn the ECT sensor counterclockwise.
- Remove the O-ring and discard it.
Installation
1. Install the ECT sensor.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Install the sealing ring.
3. Check the coolant level, top up if necessary. Wipe off excess coolant around pipes and hoses.
4. Install the engine cover. For more information refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)
5. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
