Removal
CAUTION: Do not remove the coolant temperature sensor when the cooling system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the sensor may cause serious injury such as scalding.
CAUTION: Coolant may damage paintwork if it comes into contact with it. If coolant is spilled, wipe it off immediately and rinse the area with water.
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
2. Remove the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)
3. Disconnect the electrical connector of the ECT sensor.

4. Remove the ECT sensor.
- Lift the tailstock and turn the ECT sensor counterclockwise.
- Remove the sealing ring and discard it.

Installation
1. Install the ECT sensor.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Install the sealing ring.
3. Check the coolant level and top up if necessary. Wipe off any remaining coolant around the tubes and hoses.
