Knock sensors

Knock sensors

Item nameSpare part catalog numberDescription
1-Right knock sensor
2Left knock sensor

The knock sensors are mounted on the engine block in two different locations. One is on the inside of the right bank of cylinders, and the other is on the front of the left side of the engine block, next to the oil pressure sensor. They are piezoelectric sensors that generate a signal to detect and localize combustion knock. For more information, see Electronic Engine Controls (303-14A Electronic Engine Controls - 4.0L)

Oil pressure sensor

Oil pressure sensor

Item nameSpare part catalog numberDescription
1-Oil pressure sensor

The oil pressure sensor is located in a hole on the front left side of the cylinder block. It detects when a safe operating pressure is reached when the engine is started and lights a warning lamp on the instrument panel if the oil pressure drops below a preset value. The sensor operates in a pressure range of 0.15 to 0.41 bar.

Cylinder Block Heater

Cylinder Block Heater

On vehicles intended for cold climate markets, a block heater is installed in the front left side of the cylinder block.
