The ladder structure, secured to the bottom of the cylinder block with 20 bolts and 2 studs with nuts, increases engine rigidity and reduces noise, vibration and low-frequency vibration (NVH). The structure is made of high-pressure die-cast aluminum.
There are eight adjusting screws in the bulkhead housing that secure the crankshaft main bearings.
