The crankshaft is supported by four main bearings, and each pair of connecting rod journals is offset 30 degrees apart to ensure equal firing intervals. Crankshaft cast from spheroidal graphite iron (SG) and has cold-rolled fillets on all necks, with the exception of the outer main ones, which provide rigidity and strength. Nine counterweights on the crankshaft increase the smoothness of its operation and reduce bearing wear, since the load is evenly distributed between the bearings. The thrust washer halves the axial clearance at the top and bottom of the third main bearing.
Oil grooves are provided in the upper and lower parts of all main bearing shells, through which oil is supplied through holes in the crankshaft to the bearings of the lower heads of the connecting rods.
