Coolant pump 2.7L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Drain the cooling system. For more information, refer to Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (10/26/01)

3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For more information, refer to Accessory Drive Belt (86.10.03)

NOTE: Before removing the accessory drive belt, the bolts must be loosened.

Remove the coolant pump pulley. Remove 3 bolts.



5. Remove the coolant pump.

• Remove 3 bolts.
• Discard the O-ring.

Installation

1. Install the coolant pump.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Install a new O-ring.
• Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

2. Install the coolant pump pulley.

• Clean the parts.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).

3. Install the accessory drive belt. For more information, refer to Accessory Drive Belt (86.10.03)

4. Fill the cooling system with coolant and bleed air from it. For more information, refer to Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (10/26/01)
