Fuel lift pump: after May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the fuel pump assembly with the filter.

2. Place rags around the fuel lines to collect any leaking fuel.



3. Loosen the clamp and remove the fuel hose from the pump to the fuel filter.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.

4. Loosen the clamp and remove the fuel hose from the pump to the sump.

5. Loosen the fasteners and remove the fuel pump from the module.

Installation

1. Wipe the connecting parts of the fuel hoses.

2. Install the fuel pump onto the module.

3. Place both hoses onto the fuel lift pump and secure them.

4. Remove the previously laid out rags.

5. Install the fuel pump module assembly with the filter.
