CAUTION: If there is a lot of fuel in the tank, then pump it out through the filler neck, using a special device, to a level below the fuel inlet.
Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Open the right rear door and tailgate.
3. Fold the right rear seat forward.
4. Unfasten the 2 fastening buttons of the front and rear mats.
5. Slide back the luggage compartment carpet to access the service hatch.
6. Turn out 6 screws of fastening of a cover of the service hatch.
CAUTION: The Residual Pressure Relief Procedure must be followed whenever any system components need to be disconnected. Residual pressure exists in the system even some time after the ignition is turned off.
7. Remove the service hatch cover.
CAUTION: Fuel leakage is inevitable during this operation. Take safety precautions to prevent fire or explosion.
8. Disconnect the connector and fuel hose from the fuel pump housing.
CAUTION: Always plug fittings and openings to keep dirt out of the system.
9. Using tool LRT-19-009, remove the retaining ring from the fuel pump module.
10. Remove the fuel pump module with a sealing ring.
Installation
1. Clean the housing of the fuel pump module and mating surfaces on the fuel tank.
2. Install a new gasket on the fuel pump housing.
3. Install the fuel pump module in the fuel tank, put on the retaining ring and tighten its fastener to 35 Nm using tool LRT-19-009.
4. Connect the connector and fuel hose to the fuel pump housing.
5. Replace the service hatch cover.
6. Put the mat back in place and secure it with tacks.
7. Reinstall the rear seat to its original position.
8. Close the tailgate and tailgate.
9. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
