Dismantling


1. Remove the soundproofing casing.

2. Place a rag under the fuel rail to absorb fuel.

CAUTION: Fuel vapors are highly flammable, and they are also toxic and explosive in a confined space. When working with fuel, it is necessary to have a foam type, carbon dioxide (CO₂), gas or powder fire extinguisher on hand.


3. Before May 2003: Remove the nut and bolt that secure the coil and move the coil to the side.

4. Connect the LRT-19-006 adapter to the LRT-19-004 pressure gauge.

5. Remove the protective cap from the Schroeder valve.

6. Connect the pressure gauge to the Schroeder valve on the fuel rail.

7. Start the engine. In idle mode, the pressure = 3.4 bar. If the pressure is lower than specified, then the following should be checked, in the order listed: fuel hoses, filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump.

Installation


1. Stop the engine.

2. Disconnect the LRT-19-006 pressure gauge and LRT-19-004 adapter from the fuel rail.

3. Before May 2003: Tighten the bolt and nut that secure the coil.



4. Install the soundproofing casing in place.
