Removal


1.
CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely.


Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the fender splash guard. For more information, refer to Fender Splash Guard (76.10.48)

3. Disconnect the shock absorber assembly with the elastic element from the lower arm. Unscrew the nut and remove the bolt.

4. Remove the heat shield to access the inner nut of the upper shock absorber mount assembly with the elastic element. Remove the three mounting bolts.

5. Remove the shock absorber assembly with the elastic element. Unscrew the three mounting bolts.

Installation


1. Install the shock absorber assembly with the elastic element.

Make sure that the contact surfaces of the upper shock absorber mount with the elastic element to the body are clean. Screw on new nuts and tighten them to 70 Nm.

2. Secure the heat shield. Insert and tighten the 3 bolts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

3. Disconnect the shock absorber assembly with the elastic element from the lower arm. Tighten the nut and bolt (tightening torque 300 Nm).

4. Install the fender splash guard. For more information, refer to Fender Splash Guard (76.10.48)
