Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) 2.7L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the turbocharger. For more information, refer to Turbocharger (19.42.01)

3. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.



4. Remove the CKP sensor cover.

NOTE: The CKP sensor mounting bolt should not be removed from the CKP sensor.

Remove the CKP sensor. Fully loosen the CKP sensor mounting bolt.

Installation

ATTENTION: Install the CKP sensor into the housing without distortions. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the CKP sensor.

Install the elements in place, acting in the reverse order. Tighten the CKP sensor bolt (tightening torque 5 Nm).
