Soundproof engine casing (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air intake hose from the noise insulation casing.

2. Except for North American market vehicles: Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air intake hose and the bypass hose from the throttle body.

3. North American market vehicles: Loosen the clamp and disconnect the intake air hose from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

4. Unscrew the 2 fasteners securing the noise-insulating casing to the valve cover of the left cylinder head.

5. Release the tape fastener and remove the noise-insulating casing.

Installation

1. Install the engine soundproofing cover and secure it.

2. Connect the air intake hose and the bypass hose, tighten the clamps.

3. Fix the air intake hose to the noise insulation casing, tighten the clamp screw.
