Dismantling
1. Drain the engine oil.
MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, Engine oil and oil filter - KV6.
2. If installed: Remove the 4 nuts securing the oil cooler to the bracket and move the heat exchanger aside.
3. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of a casing of an oil probe to the block of cylinders.
4. Depress and hold the shoulders of the oil dipstick retainer, remove the oil dipstick from the sump.
5. In the sequence shown in the figure, remembering the position, unscrew the 10 bolts securing the bottom cover of the pallet to the pallet.
6. Lightly tap the bottom cover of the pan with a mallet to knock the cover off the sealant layer and remove it.
CAUTION: Do not separate the bottom cover from the drip tray using the lever.
Installation
1. Use a solvent rag to wipe the mating surfaces of the bottom sump cover and sump. Do not use a metal scraper to clean mating surfaces.
2. Apply a continuous bead of 2 mm thick STC 4600 sealant along the middle of the mating flange and spread evenly using a roller trowel.
WARNING: Assembly of prepared parts must be done immediately to prevent contamination of surfaces with applied sealant.
3. Install the bottom cover, screw in the bolts and gradually tighten them with a torque of 35 Nm in the sequence shown in the figure.
4. If equipped: Install the engine oil cooler, fit the nuts and tighten them to 25 Nm.
5. Install the dipstick, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 9 Nm.
6. Fill the engine with oil.
