Brake pads (rear wheels) (Discovery 1)

Note: when replacing the pads, you will need the LRT-70-500 clamp.

Removal

1. Remove the rear wheels.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Clean the caliper installation area.



4. Remove the retaining pins and anti-noise springs.

5. Remove the brake pads.

6. Wash the protruding parts of the caliper pistons with clean brake fluid.

7. Using the LRT-70-500 clamp, insert the pistons into the caliper. Make sure that the brake master cylinder reservoir is not overfilled with brake fluid.

Installation

8. Install the brake pads.

9. Install new retaining pins and anti-noise springs. Spread the ends of the holding fingers.

10. Press the brake pedal several times to install the pads in place.

11. Check the brake fluid level.
