Dismantling
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always install safety props.
2. Remove rear wheels.
3. Remove the rear brake drums.

4. To remove the brake shoe clamps, squeeze and turn them. Remove 2 clamps and 2 locking pins.
5. Release the parking brake cable from the lever.
6. Release the brake pads from the grooves of the piston stops.
7. Unroll the shoe assemblies around the wheel cylinder and hub and remove them.
WARNING: Be careful not to damage the protective covers of the wheel cylinder with the edges of the brake shoes.
8. Wrap an elastic band around the wheel cylinder to hold the pistons in place.
9. Release and remove the coupling springs, having previously remembered their location. Set aside the gap adjuster and brake pad expander.
10. Clean the brake shield and brake drum with brake cleaner.
CAUTION: Do not use mineral based fluids. Their use may cause damage to the rubber elements.
11. Completely remove rust with a wire brush. Be careful not to damage the protective covers of the wheel cylinder.
CAUTION: Do not use compressed air to clean brakes. Brake friction material particles can be harmful to the body if inhaled.
12. Examine elements of the brake mechanism, paying attention to deterioration and damages.
13. Examine protective covers of the wheel cylinder, paying attention to traces of leak of a brake liquid and their abnormal moistening. If a significant amount of brake fluid is found, lift the seals and check for leakage. Replace the wheel cylinder and brake pads with new ones if the pads are contaminated with brake fluid.
14. Make sure the pistons can move freely in the wheel cylinder.
15. Check the threaded surface of the gap adjuster, nut and parking brake actuator, paying attention to wear. Replace worn parts if necessary.
16. Check the condition of the coupling springs and, if necessary, replace them with new ones.
17. Make sure the lash adjuster is fully released.
Installation
1. Install the brake pad adjuster and pad expander, and then install the return springs.
2. Lubricate the contact points of the brake pads with Molybdenum Disulphide Grease 111.
3. Remove the elastic band from the wheel cylinder.
4. Unroll the shoe assemblies around the wheel cylinder and hub and insert them into the grooves of the wheel cylinder piston stops.
5. Install the locking pins and secure them with the clamps.
6. Connect the cable to the parking brake lever.
7. Install the brake drum.

8. Depress the brake pedal at least 30 times to ensure that the rear brake pads are fully adjusted after installation.
9. Replace the wheel (wheels) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
10. Remove props and lower the car.
