Vacuum pump — for cars with Td4 engine and manual transmission (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the air cleaner filter element.

3. Move the fuel injector wiring harness away from the vacuum pump.

4. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.

5. Remove and discard the 2 vacuum pump mounting bolts.

6. Remove the vacuum pump and discard the sealing ring.

Installation

1. Clean the vacuum pump and mating surfaces from dirt.

2. Install a new sealing ring.

3. Rotate the pump drive shaft until it aligns with the camshaft, install the vacuum pump in place and tighten the new mounting bolts to 22 Nm.



4. Connect the hose to the vacuum pump and secure it with a clamp.

5. Route the fuel injector wiring harness to its location.

6. Install the air cleaner filter element.

7. Connect the negative battery terminal.
