Removal
1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Disconnect the ball joint of the longitudinal steering rod from the steering knuckle. To remove the joint you will need the LRT-57-018 puller.
3. Bend back the edges of the lock washer of the bipod mounting nut. Loosen the nut, but do not remove it completely. Using the LRT-57-012 puller, detach the bipod.
4. Unscrew the nut, remove the washer and the bipod.
Installation
5. Set the bipod to the central position, aligning the holes in the bipod and the steering gear housing with an 8 mm diameter pin.

6. Install a new lock washer and tighten the bipod mounting nut to 176 N·m. Bend the edge of the washer over the edge of the nut.
7. Connect the central steering rod. Tightening torque 40 Nm.
