Removal
1. Check the wheel alignment.
2. Set the steering wheels to the straight-ahead position.
3. Raise the car on a lift.
4. Remove the right front wheel.

5. Using the LRT-57-018 puller, disconnect the ball joint of the longitudinal rod from the steering knuckle.

6. Using the LRT-57-018 puller, disconnect the ball joint of the longitudinal rod from the pitman arm.
7. Remove the rod.
Disassembly
8. Loosen the tie rod end retaining bolts.
9. Unscrew the tips.
10. Clean the threads in the longitudinal rod.
Assembly
11. Screw the ends into the rod. Lightly tighten the tip retainer bolts.
12. Adjust the position of the ball joint relative to the locking pin (installation length 28.5 mm, see figure).
13. Adjust the initial length of the rod to the centers of the ball joints (initial length 924 mm).
14. Set the steering gear to the center position.
15. Adjust the position of the steering wheel if necessary.
Installation
Attention: it is not allowed to correct a bent rod using a straightening iron, install a new rod.
16. Install the rod into place. Tightening torque 40 Nm.
17. Check the adjustment of the wheel turning limiters.
18. Check the travel of the steered wheels from lock to lock. Adjust the length of the longitudinal rod if necessary.
19. Tap the ball joints in the direction of the arrows so that the installation angles of the joints are the same in plan.

20. Tighten the tip retainer bolts to 14 Nm.
21. Reinstall the removed parts.
22. Conduct a road test.
23. When driving straight, the steering wheel angle should be within the range of 0±5°. If necessary, adjust the length of the longitudinal rod.

Attention: if after adjustments the deviation of the steering wheel from the central position exceeds ±5°, adjust the position of the steering wheel.
