Note: On models with an airbag, remove the airbag assembly (see "Passive safety system").
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the lower trim panel fasteners and lower it.
4. Remove the three screws securing the lower steering column cover.

5. Disconnect the current collector connector.
Note: If the current collector is to be reinstalled, secure its parts with adhesive tape at point A to prevent its halves from rotating and possibly damaging the internal electrical connections.
6. Release the latch securing the current collector to the steering column.
7. Remove the current collector.

Attention: when removing and installing the current collector, the vehicle's steered wheels must be in a straight-ahead position.
8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
