Right valve cover gasket (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Relieve residual pressure in the fuel system.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Drain the coolant.

Note: There is no need to disconnect the hoses now.

4. Disconnect the fuel vapor accumulator hose from the resonance chamber.

5. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the valve cover.

6. Unscrew the fasteners of the cooling system tube support bracket from the intake manifold.

7. Disconnect the coolant return hose from the pipe. Plug the pipe and hose.

8. Disconnect the fuel return hose from the pipe.

9. Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel rail.

Caution: Use two wrenches when disconnecting the hose.

10. Remove the two nuts securing the wiring support bracket to the intake manifold.

11. Release the high-voltage wires from the clip on the cover, disconnect the wires from the spark plugs.





12. Unscrew the 4 valve cover mounting bolts.



13. Remove the cap and discard the gasket.
