Removal



1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the cooling fan.

3. Loosen the three water pump pulley mounting bolts.

3. Loosen the three water pump pulley mounting bolts.


4. Remove the belt (see 3.9 V8 engine).

5. Remove the bolts and water pump pulley.

6. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on stands.

7. Unscrew the 9 bolts securing the clutch housing cover (2 bolts are guides).

8. Remove the crankcase cover.

8. Remove the crankcase cover.


Note: Have an assistant lock the flywheel using a large screwdriver.


9. Loosen the pulley mounting bolt and remove the pulley.

Installation



10. Clean the sealing surface of the pulley.

11. Clean the key and keyway.

12. Install the pulley in place.

13. Tighten the crankshaft pulley mounting bolts to 270 Nm.

14. Reinstall the removed parts. Tightening torque of clutch cover bolts 10 Nm, water pump pulley 24 Nm.
