C-pillar side impact sensor (Discovery 3)

Removal

CAUTION: Before performing any work on the SRS system, read the relevant information carefully.

CAUTION: Always disconnect both battery cables before working on the SRS system. Disconnect the ground cable first. Never connect the battery with the polarity reversed.

NOTE: If replacement of SRS components is required, the bar code of the new part must be recorded.

1. Secure the SRS system.

2. Remove the lower rear pillar trim panel.

For more information, refer to Lower Pillar Trim Panel (76.13.34)

3. Remove the side impact sensor.

• Remove 2 Torx head bolts.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1. Install the side impact sensor.

• Tighten the Torx head bolts (tightening torque 8 Nm).
• Connect the electrical connector.

2. Install the rear pillar trim panel.
