Floppy disk (Discovery 3)

Removal

1.

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the gearbox. For more information, refer to Gearbox (44.20.01)

CAUTION: DO NOT use special tool 303-645 to prevent the faceplate from turning.

NOTE: Lock the elastic plate to prevent it from turning.

Remove the torque converter elastic plate. Remove 8 bolts.

Installation

NOTE: Lock the elastic plate to prevent it from turning.

Install the torque converter flex plate.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts evenly in the sequence shown in 2 stages.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 15 Nm).
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 110 Nm).

2. Install the gearbox. For more information, refer to Gearbox (44.20.01)
