Removal


1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification

CAUTION: Never work on or under a vehicle that is supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely.


Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Drain the engine oil.

4. Remove the oil cooler assembly. For more information, refer to Oil Cooler (12.60.68)

5. Remove the engine front cover. For more information, refer to Engine Front Cover (12.65.01)

6. Remove the front differential. For more information, refer to Axle Assembly (54.10.01)

7. Remove the steering gear.

8. Remove the generator. For more information, refer to Generator (86.10.02)

9. Remove the generator support bracket. Unscrew the 4 bolts.

10. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connectors. Release the 8 harness retaining clips.

11. Release the heated oxygen sensor support bracket. Remove the 2 bolts.



12. Release the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness from the oil pan. Release the 3 clamps.

13. Remove the gearbox mounting bolts. Remove 3 bolts.

13. Remove the gearbox mounting bolts. Remove 3 bolts.


14. Remove the oil pan. Unscrew 16 bolts.

14. Remove the oil pan. Unscrew 16 bolts.


Installation


1. Install the oil pan.
  • Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
  • Apply a 3mm wide and 130mm long bead of sealant to the indicated locations.
  • Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 20 Nm).
Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 20 Nm).


2. Screw in the gearbox mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts. (tightening torque 45 Nm).



3. Install the heated oxygen sensor support bracket. Tighten the 2 bolts. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

4. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connectors. Install the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness clamps.

5. Install the heated oxygen sensor wiring harness. Secure the clamps.

6. Install the generator support bracket. Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.

7. Install the generator. For more information, refer to Generator (86.10.02)

8. Install the steering gear.

9. Install the front differential. For more information, refer to Axle Assembly (54.10.01)

10. Install the oil cooler assembly. For more information, refer to Oil Cooler (12.60.68)

11. Install the engine front cover. For more information, refer to Engine Front Cover (12.65.01)

12. Fill the engine with oil.

13. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
