Removal


1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise the car.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.


3. Drain the coolant. Refer to procedure: Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (303-03B Engine Cooling - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, General Procedures).

4. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to procedure: Air Conditioning Compressor - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (412-01 Climate Control, Removal and Installation).

5. Remove the throttle body. Refer to procedure: Throttle Body (303-04B Fuel Delivery and Controls - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

6. Disconnect the engine oil pressure (EOP) sensor electrical connector.

7. Tightening torque: 20 Nm



Prepare to collect spilled liquid. Discard the seal.

8. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

CAUTION: Discard the seal.


NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed only for access.

Installation


1. Install the elements back in place, working in reverse order.

2. Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
