Front crankshaft oil seal (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Remove the timing belt.

2. Remove the crankshaft gear and key. Place the puller stop on the crankshaft.



3. Screw the LRT-12-073 puller onto the front oil seal.

4. By tightening the central bolt of the puller, remove the seal.



5. Remove the puller stop from the crankshaft.

Installation

1. Wipe the oil seal seat with a lint-free cloth.

2. Apply engine oil to the sealing lip of the oil seal.

3. Install the LRT-12-070 guide onto the crankshaft.

4. Using the LRT-12-069 tool, press in the new oil seal.



5. Install the key and timing gear on the crankshaft nose.

6. Put on the timing belt.
