Removal



1. Place the car on a lift.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Remove the radiator (see "Cooling system").

4. Remove the hood (see "Body").

5. Drain the engine oil.

6. Place a rag around the fuel rail fitting to collect any excess fuel. Loosen the fuel supply line fasteners and release any residual pressure in the system.

7. Disconnect the water pump hose.

9. Remove the three nuts from the rear generator cover (if installed).



10. Remove the back cover.

11. Disconnect the three wires from the generator.

12. Secure the wires to the side.

13. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.

14. Remove the connector from the clip.

15. Cut off the plastic cable tie that supports the wiring.

16. Disconnect the connectors of the two coolant temperature sensors

17. Disconnect the upper and bypass hoses of the cooling system.

18. Cut off the plastic cable tie that supports the wiring.

19. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the intake manifold.



20. Route the wiring harness between the intake manifold and the valve cover.

21. Disconnect the supply hose from the power steering pump (low pressure).

22. Disconnect the outlet hose from the power steering pump (high pressure). Discard the rubber seal from the hose tip. Plug the pump hoses and fittings.

23. Remove the accelerator cable from the bracket.

24. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle cam. Remove the coolant hoses from the throttle body.

25. Disconnect the stepper motor and throttle position sensor connectors.



26. Disconnect the hose between the air cleaner and the throttle body.

27. Disconnect the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.

28. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor connector.

28. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor connector.


29. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector.

30. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor connector.

30. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor connector.


31. Remove the three bolts securing the wiring support bracket to the intake manifold.

40. Remove the cap and disconnect the ground wire from the cylinder block.

41. Secure the ground wire to the side.

42. Unscrew the 4 air conditioning compressor mounting bolts. Secure the compressor to the side.

43. Remove the engine mount heat shield, unscrew the upper nuts of the left and right mounts.

44. Unscrew 4 screws and remove the spark plug cover.

45. Attach the LRT-12-056 bracket to the engine. Secure the engine with a sling to the engine hoist to secure the engine.
