Removal
CAUTION: To avoid unintentional application of the parking brake and possible damage to the actuator, remove fuse link 8 from the engine compartment fuse box before starting work.
NOTE: If the operating time of the parking brake system is less than 50,000 cycles, the parking brake cables can be replaced. If the operating time of the parking brake system exceeds 50,000 cycles, the parking brake cables can only be replaced together with the actuator. The operating time of the parking brake can be checked using T4, (ON/OFF = 1 cycle). If the cable breaks or becomes disconnected while the vehicle is moving, the "parking brake actuator release procedure" may be required using T4.
1. Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, set the parking brake to the 'set position'.
2. Isolate the parking brake circuit. Remove fuse 8 from the BJB.
