Front door lock for a 3-door car (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the top plastic trim panel.

2. Disconnect the lock button rod from the door lock.

3. Disconnect the rod from the outer handle.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the door lock.

5. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the lock to the door.

6. On the driver's door, disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the lock.

7. Remove the lock assembly from the lock hole.



8. Open the protective cover of the lock.

9. Release the release cable retainer from the lock.

10. Disconnect the release cable from the lock.

Installation

1. Connect the release cable to the lock and close the lock protective cover.

2. Install the lock release cable retainer on the lock.

3. Install the lock in the door. On the driver's door, connect the cylinder rod to the lock.

4. Install the 3 Torx screws securing the lock to the door.

5. Connect the electrical connector to the lock.

6. Connect the outer handle rod to the lock.

7. Connect the lock button rod to the lock.

8. Check how the lock works.

9. Install the plastic trim on the door.
