2. Remove the cylinder head valve cover.
ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Front exhaust camshaft oil seal, Valve cover gasket.

3. Release the camshaft position sensor harness connector from the bracket and disconnect the connector.

4. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the oil seal cover to the cylinder head and move the cover to the side.
5. Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the oil seal cover to the cylinder head and remove the cover.

6. Gradually, in the sequence shown in the figure, loosen the 26 mounting bolts until the valve springs are completely unloaded.
7. Remove the camshaft cover.

8. Mark the shafts so that you can later install them in their original location.
9. Remove both camshafts.
10. Remove the seals and dispose of them.
Installation
1. Wipe the camshafts.
2. Clean the mating surfaces of the integral camshaft cover and cylinder head.
The publication was copied from a web resource: LRman.ru
3. Blow out the cover mounting bolt sockets and wipe the mounting pins.
4. Blow out the oil passages and lubricate the camshaft journals.

5. Insert the camshafts and rotate them so that the locating pin for the intake camshaft gear is at the 4 o'clock position and the exhaust camshaft gear is at the 8 o'clock position.

6. Apply continuous thin beads of STC 4600 Sealant in the areas shown in the figure. Use a roller trowel to spread the sealant in a thin layer over the surface.
CAUTION: The sealant layer should not be close to the channels and grooves of the lubrication system. To prevent dirt from getting on the sealing surfaces, install the camshaft cover immediately after applying the sealant.

7. Install the camshaft cover and gradually tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 Nm in the sequence shown in the figure.
8. Wipe the oil seal seats and sealing surfaces on the camshafts.

9. Remembering that the front seals are black and the rear seals are red, install new seals using the LRT-12-203 and LRT-12-148A drifts.
CAUTION: Seals must be installed dry. Do not use the LRT-12-148 tool.
10. Wipe the seal covers and mating surfaces.
11. Install the exhaust camshaft rear oil seal cover, screw in the bolts and tighten them to 25 Nm.
12. Install the intake camshaft rear oil seal cover, screw in the bolts and tighten them to 6 Nm.
13. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector and secure it to the bracket.
14. Install the valve cover.
