The air suspension control switch is located on the center console behind the automatic transmission selector lever. The momentary switch has three positions and allows you to manually select the following modes:
- Off-road driving mode
- Road driving mode
- landing mode
- Reduced speed mode at ride height
The air suspension switch can be moved back and forth from the center position. The switch is non-latching and returns to the center position when released. Moving the switch creates a ground circuit for the air suspension control unit. There are separate ground circuits for the up and down switch positions, allowing the control unit to determine which position the switch is in.
The switch has six symbols that light up to show the currently selected altitude and heading. If the requested height change is not possible, for example when the vehicle is moving too fast, the raise and lower symbols flash and the instrument panel beeps.
A flashing symbol indicates that the air suspension system is in a standby state, or that the driver's request is ignored due to too high a speed.
The driver can also choose to ignore system warnings and allow automatic height adjustment. For example, if the speed exceeds 40 km/h, the control unit will automatically change the altitude from the off-road mode altitude to the road mode altitude.
