The valve block of the receiver regulates the accumulation of air in the receiver and its flow from the receiver. Also, the receiver valve block contains a pressure sensor in the system.
The valve block of the receiver is fixed on a bracket on the outside of the left longitudinal beam of the chassis, between the receiver and the compressor block. The valve block is housed in a soundproof casing of the compressor block, which protects against the ingress of dirt and stone damage. The valve block has three mounting brackets with rubber anti-vibration mounts that mount into the chassis bracket with three grooves. Vibration-proof rubber mounts are located in the V-shaped slots and are pulled down to their seat in the slots.
The block of valves has four connecting pneumatic branch pipes with fittings like Voss. The nipples supply air from the compressor block, to and from the receiver, and to and from the front and rear valve blocks. The fittings for the compressor block and the front and rear valve blocks are connected by a common gallery in the valve block, providing the same pressure in them.
The valve block contains a solenoid valve controlled by the air suspension control unit. The solenoid valve regulates the pressure supply to and from the receiver. The electromagnet has a resistance of 2 ohms at 20°C (68°F). When current flows through it, the valve spool moves and air can flow in and out of the receiver.
Also, the valve block contains a pressure sensor that can be used to measure the air pressure in the elastic pneumatic elements and the receiver. The pressure sensor is connected to the air suspension control unit via an electrical connector. The control unit supplies a reference voltage of 5 V to the pressure sensor and controls the signal voltage from the sensor.
Using this sensor, the control unit regulates the operation of the compressor unit and limits the nominal operating pressure in the system to 244 lbf / inch2 (16.8 bar).
