Review
The DD295 transfer case is a permanent four-wheel drive unit with 50/50 front/rear driveshaft torque distribution and is identical for all engine options. See Section 308-07 for more information "Four wheel drive systems" in the workshop manual.
Inspection and verification
1. Make sure the customer's complaint is valid.
2. Confirm which, if any, warning lights and/or messages are lit/displayed on the instrument panel. For a list of messages, refer to the relevant section in the workshop manual.
3. Visually inspect for obvious mechanical and electrical problems.

4. If an obvious cause of a problem you identified or described by the customer is found, resolve it before proceeding to the next steps (if possible).
5. Use an approved diagnostic system or scan tool (tester), to retrieve all DTCs before referring to the Symptom Table DTC Index (DTC).
Clear all DTCs after troubleshooting.

Reboot by turning the ignition off and on
