Review
The DD295 transfer case is a permanent four-wheel drive unit, with a 50/50 ratio of torque distributed between the front and rear driveshafts, and it is identical for all engine variants. For more information, refer to Section 308-07 "Four-wheel drive systems" in the Service station manual.
Inspection and verification
1. Ensure that the customer's complaint is justified.
2. Confirm which, if any, warning lights and/or messages are illuminated/displayed on the instrument cluster. For a list of messages, refer to the relevant section in the workshop manual.
3. Visually inspect for obvious mechanical and electrical problems.

5. Use the approved diagnostic system or scan tool to retrieve all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before referring to the Symptom Chart or DTC Index.
Clear all DTCs after troubleshooting.

Reboot by turning ignition off and on
There are references to "ignition cycle reset" in the DTC Index. This is where the module should be reset by completely cycling the power.
