Removing
NOTE: Bleeding is only required from the air element being replaced.
1.
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Use T4 to release pressure from the air suspension. For more information, refer to Relieving and Boosting Air Suspension System Pressure (60.50.38)
4. Disconnect the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element from the lower arm. Loosen the nut and remove the bolt.

WARNING: Plug all open connections to avoid contamination of the system.
Disconnect the air line.
6. Using a rolling jack, jack up the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element.
7. Unscrew the 3 nuts securing the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element.
8. Remove the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element.
9. Remove the Voss fittings from the air lines. Remove and discard taper bushings and couplers.
10. Install the shock absorber assembly with the air element.
- Make sure that the contact surfaces of the upper mounting of the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element to the body are clean.
- Connect the air lines to the Voss fittings.
- Pull on each air line to make sure it is secured to the Voss style fitting.
- Install new nuts and tighten (tightening torque 63 Nm).
Installation

CAUTION: Make sure the new Voss fitting is installed and fully tightened with corrector plug installed.
Install a new Voss fitting on the air element. Tighten (tightening torque 3.5 Nm).
2. Install the shock absorber assembly with the air element.
- Make sure that the contact surfaces of the upper mounting of the shock absorber assembly with the pneumatic element to the body are clean.
- Install nuts and tighten (tightening torque 63 Nm).
- Connect the air line to the Voss fitting.
- Pull on each air line to make sure it is securely seated in the Voss fitting.
3. Attach the shock absorber assembly with the air element to the lower control arm. Tighten bolt with nut (tightening torque 300 Nm).
4. Use T4 to pressurize the air suspension. For more information, refer to Relieving and Boosting Air Suspension System Pressure (60.50.38)
5. Install the wheel. Tighten wheel nuts (tightening torque 140 Nm).
