Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
2. Remove the decorative panel from the driver's side.
- Release the clamp.
- Remove two screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Disconnect the steering column intermediate shaft from the steering column.
- Remember the position in which the part was installed.
- Unscrew the special bolt and discard the nut.

4. Disconnect the intermediate steering column shaft from the lower shaft.
- Remember the position in which the part was installed.
- Remove the bolt and discard it.

5. Remove the intermediate steering column shaft. Remove the two sealing rings.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the part is removed only for access.
NOTE: Remember the position in which the part was installed.
Remove the two intermediate shaft sealing rings.

Installation
1. Install the intermediate steering column shaft. Install the sealing rings.
2. Attach the intermediate steering shaft to the lower shaft. Tighten the new bolt. (tightening torque 25 Nm).
3. Attach the intermediate steering shaft to the steering column. Insert the special bolt and tighten the new nut. (tightening torque 22 Nm).
4. Install the decorative panel on the driver's side.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Secure the clamp.
- Tighten the screws.
5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
