Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower engine sump cover.

3. Loosen the bolt and remove the oil receiver with the mesh filter. Remove and discard the O-ring.

Installation


1. Wipe the oil pickup tube and mating surfaces.

2. Remove any remaining old sealant from the oil receiver mounting bolt and its threaded seat.

CAUTION: Do not use a tap (for cleaning threads).


3. Lubricate the new O-ring with clean engine oil and place it on the oil pickup tube.

ATTENTION: The O-ring with the number LYX000210L from the spare parts catalog must be installed.


4. Apply STC 50552 sealant to the threaded portion of the oil pan mounting bolt.

5. Install the oil receiver, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 8 Nm.

6. Reinstall the lower engine oil pan cover.

7. Connect the negative battery terminal.
