Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Drain the coolant from the engine.
COOLING SYSTEM: MOD. K, KV6 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing and filling the system.
3. Remove the right front wheel.

4. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the right mudguard panel and remove the panel.
5. Place a container under the oil filter to collect any leaking oil.

6. Loosen the nuts securing the heat exchanger hose ends to the oil filter head, remove the hoses and discard the 2 sealing rings.
CAUTION: Damage to the threaded boss will result in failure of the heat exchanger. Always plug the fittings and holes to protect the system from dirt.
7. Place a container to collect any leaking coolant.
8. Loosen the two clamps and disconnect the cooling system hoses from the engine oil cooling heat exchanger.

9. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the engine oil cooling heat exchanger to the bracket and move the heat exchanger to the side.
10. Taking care not to damage the bosses on the heat exchanger body, unscrew the nuts and remove the hose ends from the heat exchanger, remove and discard the 2 O-rings.
CAUTION: Always plug the fittings and holes to protect the system from dirt.
Installation
1. Wipe the heat exchanger hose tips and mating surfaces.

2. Lubricate new O-rings with clean engine oil and install them on the hose ends.
3. Insert the hose tips into the heat exchanger body and, holding the body lugs, tighten the nuts to a torque of 26 Nm.
CAUTION: To avoid damaging components, loosen and tighten nuts while holding the fitting with a second wrench.
4. Install the heat exchanger on the bracket, screw in the bolts and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
5. Insert the hose ends into the filter head and tighten the mounting nuts to a torque of 26 Nm.
6. Place the cooling system hoses on the heat exchanger and secure them with clamps.
7. Install the mudguard panel and secure it with bolts.
8. Reinstall the right wheel and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
9. Fill the cooling system with coolant.

10. Connect the negative battery terminal.
11. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
