Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the lower engine guard.

3. Remove the right front wheel.

4. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the right mudguard panel and remove the panel.
5. Place a container under the oil filter to collect any leaking oil.

6. Using a loop wrench, unscrew and discard the oil filter.

7. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the oil cooling heat exchanger to the bracket and move the heat exchanger to the side.

8. Unscrew the plug of the pressure reducing valve.
NOTE: If a hexagon with a sealing washer is used as a plug, the washer should be discarded.
9. Remove the spring with the pressure reducing valve.
Installation
1. Wash the valve, spring and plug, remove the remains of the old sealant from the threaded socket of the plug and from the thread of the plug itself.
CAUTION: Do not use a tap (for cleaning threads).
2. Clean the valve seat in the oil pump housing.
3. Check the freedom of movement of the valve in the hole and make sure that there are no burrs or corrosion on the valve body.
NOTE: Corrosion can be removed with 600 grit sandpaper dampened with motor oil.
4. Measure the length of the spring in its free state.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS, Engine - petrol KV6.
5. Apply STC 50552 sealant to the threaded portion of the plug.
NOTE: If a hexagon with a sealing washer is used as a plug, a new washer must be installed.
6. Insert the valve, valve spring into the oil pump housing and screw in the plug. Tighten the plug to 25 Nm.
7. Fill the filter with clean engine oil.
8. Lubricate the sealing ring of the new oil filter and screw the filter on.
9. Install the engine oil cooling heat exchanger on the bracket, screw in the bolts and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
10. Remove the oil collection container from under the engine.
11. Install the mudguard panel and secure it with bolts.
12. Reinstall the right wheel and tighten the nuts to a torque of 115 Nm.
13. Reinstall the lower engine guard.

14. Connect the negative battery terminal.
15. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
