Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Drain the engine oil.
MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, Engine oil and oil filter -KV6.
3. Remove the timing belt.
KV6 ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, Left cylinder head camshafts, Timing belt.
4. Remove the crankshaft drive gear.
5. Disconnect the connector from the oil pressure switch.
6. Loosen the nuts securing the heat exchanger hose tips to the oil filter head, remove the hoses and discard the 2 O-rings.
7. Loosen and discard the oil filter using a loop handle.
8. In the sequence shown in the figure, unscrew and dispose of the 16 bolts securing the oil pump to the cylinder block.
9. Remove the oil pump.
10. Remove and discard the oil pump gasket.
11. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal from the oil pump and discard the oil seal.
Installation
1. Clean the oil pump and the mating surface of the cylinder block, check that the threaded sockets in the cylinder block are clean and dry.
2. Wipe the seal seat in the oil pump housing and the sealing surface of the crankshaft journal.
3. Install a new, dry oil pump gasket to the cylinder block.
4. Put on the toe of the crankshaft the guide sleeve of the stuffing box included in its delivery.
5. Install the oil pump so that the flats of the crankshaft are parallel to the cheeks of the pump drive. Install new oil pump mounting bolts and gradually tighten them in the order shown in the figure.
- Stage 1: 5 Nm
- Stage 2: 9 Nm
6. Put a new oil seal on the crankshaft by sliding the oil seal against the oil pump housing. Press the oil seal into the seat using tool LRT-12-202.
CAUTION: The seals must be installed dry.
7. Remove the gland guide from the crankshaft.
8. Connect the connector to the contact oil pressure switch.
9. Fill the filter with clean engine oil.
10. Lubricate the oil filter O-ring with clean engine oil.
11. Screw on the oil filter and tighten it by hand until it makes full contact with the sealing surface, then tighten the filter another half turn.
12. Lubricate new o-rings with clean engine oil and install them on the hose ends.
13. Insert the hose ends into the filter head and tighten the fastening nuts to a torque of 26 Nm.
14. Wipe the crankshaft pinion and crankshaft nose.
15. Install the crankshaft drive gear.
16. Install the timing belt.

17. Fill the engine with oil.

18. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
