The 'L' shaped cylinder head cover fits over the camshaft cover and houses the exhaust camshaft and the drive ports for the intake and exhaust camshafts. The PCV element gasket and O-rings provide a seal between the two covers.
The cylinder head cover is made of composite materials and houses the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve, relief valve and crankcase ventilation ports. For more information, refer to the chapter: Emission Control (303-08B Emission Control - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Description and Function).
The cylinder head cover contains the CMP sensor and three fastening elements for the engine soundproof cover.
