Removal
1. Remove the transfer case.
2. Drain the oil from the automatic transmission.
3. Unscrew the bolts securing the left support bracket to the regulator body and remove the bracket.
4. Loosen the bolts securing the transfer case shift lever housing and move the housing to the side.

5. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the regulator housing from the gearbox shaft, discard the gasket.
6. Place the housing on the workbench and remove the seal.
7. Inspect the body. If any defects are found, replace the housing. Transfer the guide pins to the new housing.
8. Using the LST108 tool, install the new oil seal.

Removing and installing the regulator.
Installation
9. Install the regulator housing on the gearbox with a new gasket. Do not damage the oil seal with the gearbox shaft.
10. Tighten the 9 mounting bolts to 23 Nm.
11. Install the transfer case shift lever housing. Tighten the mounting bolts to 23 Nm.
12. Install the support bracket. Tighten the mounting bolts to 52 Nm.
13. Reinstall the removed parts.
